That's an arrogant thing to say for a man who as a member of the gb/fds has said he and the organization are not inspired nor infallible.

Isn't the OT about God's chosen people and their successes as well as failures in their worship of Him as well prophecy and works of literature that revolve around God and His worship? Is not Passover a belief in God's saving power?
Jesus was a Jew, everything he did and taught was rooted in the Jewish religion, so I mean no disrespect when I point out the differences between Jesus and Moses. Moses was a great man, a great leader. There is much in the Law to praise but also much frozen in time.
My father pointed out to me an interesting prophetic parallel, I guess you could call it. The Ark in the Holy of Holy (where only the High Priest entered once a year) contained within it the Ten Commandments but the Law of Moses was placed outside the Ark. This illustrated the permanency of the Ten Commandments versus the temporary status of the Law.

I do not believe the Jews of ancient times were literalists. Literalism is I believe a Protestant idea.
It would appear the Torah needs explanation; thus the additional writings passed down that help to explain it. Interestingly, Christ spoke clearly and plainly he needed little expounding whereas Paul, like the Torah, requires volumes to make his writings clear.
Like the Ten Commandments, Christ needs little explaining.

Did Jesus condemn gathering wood on the Sabbath?
What "law" did the young ruler say he obeyed? Was it not the Ten Commandments the only Law written by God's finger.
The "Law of Moses" is the law of Moses not the Law of God written on stone.

Here's my take on this.
Moses was a man of his time and he wrote accordingly.
Jesus was way ahead of his time and he taught accordingly.
Paul did a Pharisaical retrofit on Christ's teachings inserting shunning, harsh judicial treatment, divisions among brothers etc. Many of the organization's harsh teachings are co-opted from Paul.
Yes, Jesus was no Moses.
He was in fact Greater than Moses, Paul, and all who followed.
i started a thread on this guy's comments about building kingdom halls here.. the guy also said this (again, not a word for word quote, but the gist of his comments):.

Well the guy did say he hoped to live through Armageddon, "I hope to live through Armageddon" so I don't think he was totally knocking down that idea.
But what he may be trying to do is buck up the baby boomers who are entering their "golden" years soon to start dying like flies, oops sorry, facing the fact that the grave, not living through Armageddon, is what awaits. The gb are losing hope their generation will see the end.
The super emphasis on retiring older men and training younger men supports this also.
The gb is dysfunctional. I think the second tier brothers know it.
